Entry Requirements
To participate in the International Bareboat Skipper Sail course, candidates must meet the following requirements:
1. Previous Experience: Have a minimum of 200 nautical miles of experience as skipper or co-skipper.
2. Previous Certifications: Have completed the IYT International Crew practical course with an IYT Partner School, OR, have a gold seal affixed to the IYT Boating & Sailing Passport signed by the school’s principal, OR, possess an equivalent certification from another training organization. Additionally, they must hold an IYT VHF Radio Operator Certificate, OR, an equivalent certification from another training organization. ISSA certifications will not be accepted.
3. Minimum Age: 16 years old.
Certification
At the end of the course, students who pass the theoretical and practical exams receive an internationally recognized certification that allows them to rent and command sailboats up to 24 meters, in coastal and offshore waters.
